Admissions Interviewer

The Admission Interviewer will conduct interviews of prospective US, Canadian, and other international
medical students and prepare detailed interview summaries compliant with the criteria, policies and
procedures set forth by the Faculty Student Selection Committee (FSSC). The Interviewer will be
assessing applicants on their suitability to successfully manage the academic, social, and emotional
challenges of a rigorous medical curriculum, and the demands a career as a physician. This role reports
to the Director, Interview Program and works closely with the Interview Coordinator and admission teams
to schedule and conduct applicant interviews across the world regions.

Essential Functions
• Plan and conduct admission interviews virtually across different world regions and occasionally,
in person.
• Produce and submit in a timely manner insightful, coherent, and reflective written interview
summary.
• Liaison with the FSSC to ensure the interview summaries aptly relay assessment of the
candidate’s fitness for the study and practice of medicine and likelihood of success.
• Make sure that interviews are handled ethically, efficiently, and objectively.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Knowledge of the demands applicants and students face in the undergraduate and graduate
academic environment, pre-clinical/clinical medical training, and medical practice.
• Demonstrated experience and excellent skills in interviewing.
• Strong verbal and written communication; interpersonal and intercultural communication skills.
• Strong commitment to teamwork.
• Ability to represent the Office and the University in a highly professional manner.

Work Environment/Physical Demands
• This job is performed in a positive, creative and collaborative environment.

Hours and Travel
• A full-time interviewer will conduct on average five interviews per business day.
• The interviewer may travel to the main SGU campus in Grenada for an in-person training.

Qualifications
• MD or equivalent
• Experience in academic medicine preferred
