Job Summary Under general supervision, performs pharmacy-related functions in the other drug outlet (ODO) sites to assist with providing optimal pharmaceutical services. Prepares medications, maintains pharmacy inventory, and restocks as necessary. Assists with alternate pick-up sites for medications dispensed from Central Fill Pharmacy. Assists with medication requests from providers and patients as allowable by pharmacy rules and regulations and under the overall general supervision of a pharmacist or provider. Travel to various CHS clinic sites as necessary.
Responsibilities * Interacts with appropriate clinical staff and patients to identify, clarify and fill orders for pharmaceutical needs, under the supervision of the CHS Consultant Pharmacist and Clinic Administrator. o Fills patient medications ordered by providers using meds stocked in onsite dispensaries. o Fills out paperwork needed to track usage, outdated goods, billing, and shortages.o Maintains dispensary logs, ensuring all medications removed are accounted for and associated with the appropriate patient chart.o Coordinates insurance billing including third party prescriptions when applicable.o Handles and triages telephone/in-person inquiries, answering pharmacy related questions from both patients and clinic staff.o Assists with charging and crediting dispensary medication returns. o Assists with the medication reconciliation process and spot reviews information systems for proper charting.o Examines Central Fill pharmacy dispensed medications for upcoming return-to-stock dates, contacts patients to inform them of the impending return and pulls medications for return to Central Fill that remain after the designated return date. * Restocks and delivers drugs and related supplies to CHS clinic dispensaries, as assigned. o Prepares inventories, orders drugs and supplies, receives drugs and stocks shelves in CHS clinic dispensaries. o Logs drug receipts appropriately for clinical staff and audits CHS dispensary logs for completeness and accuracy.o Maintains stock in accordance with manufacturers' requirements and segregates stock according to originating grant or payer. o Adheres to eligibility and documentation requirements of the Title X grant and of the Denver Health Family Planning (DHFP) program. o Assists with inventory maintenance and control, checking for nearly expired drugs, rotating stock, and returning defective products and medications to manufacturers for optimal credit. * Maintains established departmental policies and procedures; quality improvement, environmental and infection control standards, and adheres to regulatory requirements. o Complies with established departmental and DHHA policies and procedures, quality improvement, infection control, and safety initiatives.o Maintains secure storage and records of all medications.o Maintains medications in accordance with manufacturer's requirements and grant rules. o Complies and assists with adherence to regulatory requirements (State Board, Joint Commission, CMS etc.)* Enhances personal and coworkers' professional growth and developmento Completes and meets the competency standards including education and training that is specific to the patient populations and practice site served. Keeps job knowledge current. o Is an educational resource for clinical and clerical staff in the CHS clinics.o Is a resource for clinic staff and patients presenting in clinics for pick up of medications provided by Denver Health Central Fill Pharmacy. o Attends and participates in departmental meetings, in-services, huddles, and departmental trainings as applicable, along with clinic huddles. o Maintains continuing education requirements for certification. o Promotes positive interpersonal (customer) relationships with fellow employees, physicians, patients and visitors. Treats these individuals with courtesy, dignity, empathy and respect; consistently displays courteous and respectful verbal and non-verbal communications.o Adheres to, complies with and demonstrates support for the mission and values of Denver Health. Education * High School Diploma or GED (Required) * Completion of a pharmacy technician training program preferred.* Typically, one year of pharmacy experience, have completed a pharmacy technician vocational course, or be a pharmacy student.

Location Shift Work Type Pay Range Minimum: 18.06 Midpoint: 21.69 Maximum: 25.30 All job applicants for safety-sensitive positions must pass a pre-employment drug test, once a conditional offer of employment has been made.
