Job Summary Under the supervision of the RN, APP and/or physician, provides care in a short stay Clinical Decision Unit (CDU) to a variety of patients whose conditions do not initially meet inpatient admission requirements but require additional testing and/or assessments prior to disposition. Provides input to the RN to help develop the plan of care and assists in carrying out plan of care for patients. Performs tasks delegated by the RN and other licensed members of the (CDU) team. Communicates changes in patient condition to the primary nurse or provider team. Additionally, responsible for administrative and clerical assistance to support the operation of the assigned nursing unit. Credentials * Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) from American Heart Association (Required) * EMT-Basic (Required) * Emergency Medical Technician (EMT-B) issued by the State of Colorado with twenty-hour Colorado State EMS approved IV training class (to practice under the provisions of the Colorado Code of Regulations: Rule 500, 3CCR-713-6) or EMT-Intermediate or Paramedic (EMT-P) with Colorado State certificate or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with LPN-IV authority from the Colorado State Board of Nursing.
