Denver Health Medical Center (DHMC) is recruiting for an intermittent/PRN Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our advanced practitioner team in the Emergency Department. The Emergency Department at DHMC sees more than 75,000 patients per year, serves as the host for the Denver Health Residency in Emergency Medicine, provides medical direction for the Denver Health Paramedic Division and 911 system for the City and County of Denver and is an academic affiliate of the University of Colorado School of Medicine and Health Sciences.A level one trauma center, the adult ED encompasses 38 dedicated acute treatment spaces and a 9-bed ED observation unit.Staffing is provided by board-certified emergency physicians, advanced care providers, PGY 1- 4 residents, emergency medicine subspecialty fellows.As Colorado's primary safety net institution DHMC provides over 300 million dollars in uncompensated care every tear. A minimum of one year experience as an advanced care provider in an ED setting is preferred. Under the supervision of a physician, the PA/NP performs professional medical work in the examination, diagnosis and treatment of patients according to statutory limitations.Examines and diagnoses patients and develops treatment plans. Performs testing, referral to physicians as needed, writes prescriptions, and performs administrative procedures within the scope of expertise, protocols and available equipment. May perform administrative support functions as required.The ideal candidate will have a preferred one year experience in emergency medicine. Interested candidates should submit their CV online.
