Denver Health, the premier Level I trauma center for the city of Denver and the entire Rocky Mountain region, in collaboration with the University of Colorado, is seeking to hire an intermittent Diagnostic Radiologist to work occasionally and to be paid on an hourly basis. The Department anticipates needing approximately 16 hours of coverage per month, though the requested hours could range from 8 to 32 hours per month. Scheduling of shifts is at the mutual convenience/availability of the radiologist and the Department. The trauma service is extraordinarily academically productive with millions in grants from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and United States Department of Defense (DoD). The seminal text "Trauma" was authored by Denver Health faculty. Denver Health is affiliated with the University of Colorado School of Medicine. All faculty, including intermittent positions, at Denver Health have University appointments and are valued participants in University and Department of Radiology functions. Faculty have access to the academic and cultural resources of Denver Health, the University, and other affiliate institutions. In their intermittent role, the radiologists will be appointed as an instructor, Assistant, Associate, or full-Professor, depending on the level of experience and interest. The candidate being sought will participate in the delivery of outpatient and inpatient general radiology, including CT, MR, Radiography, US, and limited fluoroscopy studies. Given the volume and strength of the ED and trauma service at Denver Health, there is an emphasis on providing advanced, cutting edge, and highly collaborative acute care and care of trauma victims. The majority of the diagnostic radiology work, however, remains outpatient with Denver Health providing the full gamut of imaging services. Denver Health radiology participates in the education of University of Colorado medical students, radiology and IR/DR residents, and fellows. Intermittent radiologists will particularly be involved in the education of residents. The Department values patient-centered care and a highly collaborative work environment. There is a strong working relationship with medicine, surgery, surgical subfields, OBGYN, and emergency medicine. Position Details, Pay, and Benefits Denver Health pays a competitive hourly rate for intermittent radiology services. Denver Health covers the insurance required to practice at our site. There is allotment of dedicated academic funds available to intermittent radiologists which can offset fees/costs such as licensing fees, Board MOC fees, conference attendance, and other academic needs. Minimum Requirements: Education: Graduation from an accredited medical school and completed accredited residency programs and fellowships for specialist, or equivalent. New finishing residents generally are not expected to be board-certified but should be board-certified within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the Office of Medical Administration. Certificate/License/Registration: Medical license to practice in State of Colorado.
