The Lancet Citizens' Commission (LCC) on Reimagining India's Health System (Commission) is seeking a Communications Director. The Communications Director will be based at the Commission's secretariat, which is housed in the Delhi office of the Lakshmi Mittal and Family South Asia Institute, Harvard University (LMSAI). The Commission aims to develop a roadmap to achieving universal healthcare in India in the coming decade. Unlike previous reports, it is guided by the principle that structural change towards universal health coverage must be premised on close engagement with leaders in diverse sectors and, more importantly, with India¿s citizenry. To this end, the recommendations of the Commission will be based on input from across academia, the private sector, government and civil society, as well as from those who deliver and receive healthcare on the frontline. The work of the Commission is structured across five workstreams spanning various aspects of the health system: governance, human resources, technology, financing, and citizen's engagement.

Under the direction of the Commission's Co-Chairs and the research team, the Communications Director will be responsible for coordinating the work of this Lancet Commission till its intended publishing date in August 2022. Start date of this position is as soon as possible.

Position responsibilities include:

Communications and Outreach (80% of responsibility)

• Develop, write and manage content relating to the Commission and its components on the website, social media channels and other public-facing platforms
• Build, grow and engage with followers and influencers on social media, ensuring a clear and relevant narrative and tracking progress through appropriate analytics
• Draft press releases to highlight work of the Commission and its workstreams as it progresses.
• Assist in planning and execution of outreach events held in India under the Commission.
• Work with the co-chairs to produce outreach materials to raise funds for the project.
• Draft letters and other content used for liaison with various stakeholders, including Commissioners, researchers, vendors, funders, the Lancet, various Government departments, etc.
• Prepare periodic update reports for various parties, including the Commissioners, funders, and Government.
• Help build relationships and networks with journalists across the country. PR coordination as needed.
• Support the Commission's efforts to build and maintain a regular and diverse media presence, through facilitating the writing of op-eds, developing relationships with journalists, coordinating interviews, etc.

Project Management (20% of responsibility)

• Provide logistical and administrative support to the Commission Project Team, helping coordinate work across co-chairs, workstreams and research teams
• Work with India Country Director to coordinate and track project activities, and with LMSAI Director to manage and liaise with Harvard administration, including on contracts and reporting through Harvard Global India.
