The Center on the Ecology of Early Development (CEED) is a new early childhood policy research center within Wheelock College of Education and Human Development. The mission of the center is to conduct applied equity-focused research to inspire policy leaders and practitioners to cultivate opportunities that optimize Black children's wellbeing and ability to thrive. CEED is presently comprised of a small group of researchers who work collaboratively on projects that range in topic from early language and literacy development, the development of classroom measures for sociocultural equity, and health and education equity. The Research Director would be responsible for working collaboratively with this team and leading the teams' efforts related to grant seeking, project management, and coordinating undergraduate, graduate, and/or doctoral level staff on data management tasks related to the project. Ph.D. or Ed.D. and 3 to 5 years related experience. A minimum of a doctorate degree in psychology, education, public health, public policy, economics, or child development is needed
Strong writing and analytic skills are a must as there will be opportunities to co-author peer-reviewed research articles and policy briefs
The director needs to have a strong background and significant experience in conducting research in the field
Must be willing to learn programming and statistical techniques related to quantitative/qualitative data analysis, such as NViVo, as needed in order to support projects
Prior teaching or professional experience with ethnic or racial minority populations is a plus
Evidence of and a dedication to working with low-income families and/or children who are ethnic/racial minorities is a plus
