The Senior Analyst (SA) models complex scientific clinical data for studies supported by the Heart Center. The SA collaborates with Principal Investigators and machine learning and computer engineers to develop clinical decision-making tools using statistical, algorithmic, mining and visualization techniques for a multicenter clinical research registry of pediatric patients with single ventricle anatomy who have undergone a Fontan procedure and cardiac magnetic resonance imaging. Responsibilities: - In partnership with colleagues from Information Technology, Finance and other organizational departments, develops on-demand reporting processes and outputs.
- Utilizes existing data sets - with particular attention to the quality and integrity of database inputs and elemental definitions.
- Builds new databases, as needed, and maintains a valid and accurate data repository to ensure availability of required information. Advises on the development of data collection and management systems. Defines specifications for key data elements, data collection procedures, and integrity of databases.
- Improves and maintains the production environment for tasks and applications.
- Provides analyses and reports of institution-wide performance indicators as well as project specific metrics that are timely, accurate, interpretable and actionable.
- Subject matter expert for visualization tools (e.g. Microstrategy, Tableau, etc.) and techniques for insightful display of data for business decision-makers.
- Uses data from third party sources and links results to hospital data for benchmarking and other analyses.
- Maintains expertise in current and emerging data management and analysis methods, including appropriate computer software applications.
Requirements: - Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare Management, Business Administration, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- Three (3) years of proven success performing financial, operational, utilization, quality improvement or other quantitative analytical work.
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong understanding of SQL syntax and/or related coding skills.
- Knowledge of dimensional data modeling concepts used in data warehousing and business analytic applications.
- Basic knowledge of biostatistical techniques.
- Familiarity with SAS, SPSS or other statistical software platforms.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to build strong relationships with key partners and stakeholders across the organization.
