Location: Rochester, MN Full/Part Time: Full Time Employment Condition: Fixed Term (9 Month Appointment) Job Description: RESPONSIBILITIES: o Provide instruction in undergraduate nursing concepts of community, public, population, family health in didactic, community practicum, and/or simulation setting(s). The incumbent would be expected to teach courses and practicum across a variety of settings. o Provide instruction in varied locations, at varied times, and via various media commensurate with department and university needs. o Contribute to a program of scholarship within the discipline, student advising, and service to the University and community. o Engage in scholarly research or creative achievement and professional development to enhance knowledge of field. o Provide evidence of continuing preparation and study in the field to remain current in content area(s) or areas of expertise to enhance teaching abilities. o Contribute to student learning and development. o Support Winona State University’s mission to enhance the intellectual, social, cultural and economic vitality of the people and communities we serve by providing assistance and service to the program, department, college, University and greater community. o Serve on department, college, university and community committees. o Participate in programmatic accreditation. Required Qualifications: Minimum: o A graduate degree in nursing from a Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or Accreditation Commission on Education in Nursing (ACEN) accredited program or an international equivalent. o For international applicants all qualifications will need to be verified by a United States accrediting body e.g. Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools (CGFNS International, Inc.) o Licensed as a Registered Nurse with current registration or eligible for licensure in MN and WI. o Satisfactory background study as required by Minnesota statutes. o A minimum of 3 years nursing experience with at least one year in nonacute care, community, public health settings, including community-based programs, public health departments, home health, school health, family-focused care, transitional care settings, and/or other settings serving underserved populations. o Health Care Provider CPR certification, and up-to-date immunizations, including influenza. o Demonstrated commitment to quality teaching. Preferred Qualifications: Preferred: o Skills/ability to design, integrate and enhance technology in learning, online teaching, hybrid, blended courses. o Graduate level courses in curriculum and instruction and educational testing and measurement or Certification for Nurse Educators by the National League for Nursing. o Experience teaching baccalaureate nursing students. o Simulation experience in varied forms. o Recent teaching and or practice experience in community, public health, community-based programs, home health, school health, family-focused care, transitional care, and/or other practice settings serving underserved populations. o Experience in guiding community/public health, community-based clinicals. o Public Health Nursing Certification through Minnesota Board of Nursing. o Flexibility to respond to a changing work environment. o Strong teamwork ethic and powerful communication skills. o Demonstrated commitment to quality teaching.
