Position Summary: As an Infection Prevention Coordinator, you will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and with other departments to ensure that optimal infection control practices are delineated, shared, maintained, and regularly reviewed for the facility. What you will do in this role: - As an Infection Prevention Coordinator, you will be responsible for the prevention, detection and control of infections in the facility and responsible for the direction of the Infection Prevention Program.
- You will be responsible for establishing, instituting and maintaining an effective system for evaluation and reporting infections in patients.
- You will accomplish this based on a systematic body of professional knowledge.
Requirements: - Completion of Infection Control Surveillance training is preferred.
- Certification in Infection Control (CIC) is preferred.
- Degree in nursing or medical technology, or other related field.
- Master’s degree in public health is preferred but not required.
- Experience in infection prevention and control or related areas such as nursing or microbiology.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and other health care team members.
- Strong critical thinking skills and project management.
- Demonstrates knowledge of microbiology, normal flora, pathogens and antimicrobial susceptibility testing.
