Pharmacist – Patient Safety Data Analyst Position based in Albany, NY Better healthcare, realized. Across nearly 100 state and federal programs in 34 states, IPRO makes creative use of clinical expertise, emerging technology and data solutions to make the healthcare system work better. We currently seek a Pharmacist-Patient Safety Data Analyst to support IPRO’s Healthcare Quality Improvement Program, as well as other departments, by leading the design and testing of drug related quality improvement measures. We seek a Pharmacist who is creative, flexible and dynamic in meeting current federal and state public health drug related priorities including pandemic (e.g., treatment, vaccinations) and opioid epidemic responses, as well as in identifying potential opportunities. In this role, you will contribute to organizational efforts through the acquisition, analysis, and interpretation of clinical and administrative data sources to produce informative and actionable reports and visualizations of value to multiple audiences. Your responsibilities will also include - drug related analytic quality assurance,
- coordination of the design or acquisition of applications to enhance project quality and productivity; providing support to project activities through developing monitoring strategies,
- coordination of the data collection and completion of project deliverables.
- assisting in proposal preparation in response to emerging funding opportunities.
QUALIFICATIONS: - Superior knowledge of clinical pharmacy and drug-related epidemiologic and health outcomes literature, particularly regarding high-risk drugs (opioids, anticoagulants, diabetes agents, antibiotics).
- Healthcare research background with knowledge of drug-related statistics and proficiency in preparing cogent analysis using a variety of statistical, spreadsheet, and database programs, including but not limited to SAS, SQL, etc.
- Ability to effectively communicate qualitative and quantitative findings to interested parties with various backgrounds.
- Attention to detail with the ability to work within competing priorities.
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: - Doctor of Pharmacy degree, with active licensure in any state, required.
- Masters or Doctorate degree (MS, MPH or PhD) in Epidemiology, Statistics, Health Services, Health Outcomes or related discipline, required.
- Proficiency in SAS and SQL, required.
- A minimum of two (2) years of experience in drug-related medical or public health research or healthcare analytics that involved extensive use of SAS and/or SQL, preferred. May consider quality and breadth of experience for the right candidate if less than 2 years of experience.
- Experience with Tableau, quality measure development, quality improvement projects, and research, preferred.
