Department: College of Health and Human Services (CHHS) Web Announcement: Sr. Grants Administrator The George Mason University College of Health and Human Services (CHHS) is seeking to fill the position of Sr. Grants Administrator. This position focuses on maximizing funding for research and scholarly pursuits while following the guidelines set forth by the University and affiliated sponsors. About the College: The College of Health and Human Services at George Mason University includes five academic departments including Global and Community Health; Health Administration, Policy and Informatics; Nutrition and Food Studies; Rehabilitation Science; and Social Work, which field a variety of nationally-ranked graduate and undergraduate programs (BS through PhD); and one school, Nursing. The College has recently opened its Population Health Center, which is a state-of-the-art clinical and research facility, while offering professional development opportunities. The College is home to more than 1,900 undergraduate and 950 graduate students and approximately 140 faculty and staff. The College is currently transitioning to become a college of public health. Responsibilities: The Sr. Grants Administrator will support the Associate Dean of Research and have responsibilities as described, but not limited to: coordinating and/or performing pre-award budgeting, post award and compliance activities for the College. Post award activities include labor distribution, hiring of student and wage employees, purchasing supplies and equipment, reconciling expenditures, journal vouchering, etc. The incumbent will ensure all applications meet agency and university guidelines; complete administrative and financial actions required for project objectives; maintain complete documentation of all project activities; ensure all charges are posted in a timely manner for review; provide professional support to senior management, faculty and staff responsive to report requests, inquiries and concerns; serve as backup on pre award activities; remain current with federal, state, university, and sponsor regulations while assisting in the dissemination of information as necessary; assist in graduate assistant stipend assignments; maintain and reconcile p-card activities; assist with scheduling meetings and maintaining calendars; and carrying out daily operations of the Office of Research. For approximately the first 18-24 months of the appointment, the incumbent will assist the Associate Dean of Research, Acting Interim Chair of Rehabilitation Sciences with administrative and budget activities associated with phasing out of the department.
