We are seeking to fill a post-doctoral fellow position to work on NIH funded studies to understand the underlying biological and genetic mechanisms of Motoric Cognitive Risk syndrome (MCR), a pre-dementia syndrome associated with increased risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias. The post-doctoral fellow will be responsible for processing, analyzing, and harmonizing and managing biological and clinical data from 8 cohorts including over 11,000 participants from around the world. The fellow will be involved in tracking progress and communicating with the investigators and coordinators at study sites. The fellow will work with a multidisciplinary team of investigators and have the opportunity to develop their own independent research projects, make scientific presentations, and publish manuscripts. Strong mentoring and training support will be provided by an internationally recognized team of researchers.
About Us The Division: The Division of Cognitive & Motor Aging in the Saul R. Korey Department of Neurology at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, a national leader in medical education, basic research, and clinical practice is located in Bronx, New York. The Division is directed by Dr. Joe Verghese, an expert on aging who assesses how diseases and aging affect cognitive ability and mobility in older adults. The work in the Division of Cognitive & Motor Aging seeks to cover a wide range of research and clinical studies of older adults to investigate the links between cognitive and motor pathways in an aging population. Over the last decade it has set the precedent for true interdisciplinary collaborations, where clinical work from a team of neurologists, geriatricians, neuropsychologists, physiatrists, epidemiologists, biostatisticians and bioengineers synergistically informs research, and investigations are defined by the cross-pollination of diverse scientific knowledge.
