Principal Duties

1. Assists in the production, updating, testing, and maintenance or technical training documentation for the end user community, including materials for internally developed and vendor applications.

2. Develops SOPs and documentation forms for the Biorepository which are needed for an upcoming CAP Accreditation. Shadows laboratory technicians in their daily tasks to devise written protocols. Works closely with the Biorepository Supervisor in the review and development of the protocols.

3. Meets regularly with the Biorepository Supervisor and CAP accreditation consultant to work towards accreditation readiness.

4. Works with the Biorepository Supervisor and Biorepository technicians to implement new documentation methods. Responds to concerns raised by users concerning documentation issues. Recommends methods to aid users in optimal use of documentation as needed.

5. Develops a documentation system that allows the Biobank staff to easily store and access forms. Works with the Biobank's Informatics group to develop and improve upon existing systems.

Minimum Knowledge and Skills Required

1. Work requires a scientific background typically acquired through completion of a Bachelor's of Science degree with emphasis in written communication.

2. Work requires expertise in MS Office (formatting and converting data from one tool - Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Sensitivity to readability, visual impact, ease of navigation, and consistency of presentation also a must.

3. Work requires communication and organizational skills.

During a public health emergency, individuals in this role may be expected to take on additional duties to respond to organizational needs.
