The Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for: - Providing comprehensive healthcare independently to adolescent/young adult patients who are medically compromised due to eating disorders
- Assisting with discharge planning, communicate with care team members.
- Supporting the Adolescent Medicine team with management issues, and provide outpatient follow up visits to bridge patients who are in need of further care.
- Providing outpatient services to patients needing urgent eating disorder evaluations to assess for hospitalization.
- Communicating with patients, families and health care providers, and care coordination.
- Ordering and interpreting laboratory and diagnostic tests in outpatient and inpatient settings.
- Triaging pager calls and identifying patients that require consultation with referring pediatricians, inpatient hospital staff, Emergency room staff, or other healthcare professionals.
- Assessing patients and providing care in Adolescent Clinic.
- Documenting a patient history, physical, diagnosis, and care plan.
- Prescribing medications.
To qualify, you must have: - Master's degree in Nursing
- A current Nurse Practitioner license in MA.
- At least 1 year of pediatric/adolescent NP experience preferred (Exceptional recent NP graduates will be considered with 3 years of pediatric acute care RN experience)
- The ability to collaborate with physicians, nurses, mid-level providers, and ambulatory staff.
- Ability to work 32 or 36 hours per week, including four 8 hour shifts (days) Monday - Friday
