The Implementation Science Core within the Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior within the Alpert Medical School of Brown University is seeking applications for an Assistant of Associate Professor faculty position. The Implementation Science Core in the Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior was launched in 2018 and collaborates with the other Cores within the Department, including the Quantitative Science Program (QSP) and Qualitative Science and Methods Training Program (QSMTP), to foster the translation, spread, and scale-up of evidence-based practices into routine clinical care. The Implementation Science Core provides three key services to the broad Brown University Community: Dissemination and Implementation (D&I) science consultation; grant preparation guidance and serving as expert Co-Investigators/Mentors; and D&I-focused educational activities. Consultation services include regular office hours for one-on-one mentorship in: 1) dissemination and implementation (D&I) science models, theories and frameworks to guide studies; and 2) qualitative and quantitative methods specific to D&I science research questions (such as formative evaluations, stakeholder engagement methods, implementation strategies, hybrid designs, etc.). Implementation Science Core faculty may also provide individual grant preparation consultation/serve as expert Co-Investigators or Mentors on both NIH R-type or NIH/VA Career Development Awards focused on implementation science. Finally, the Core faculty provide D&I workshop trainings, including a six-week fundamentals of D&I science series, intermediate D&I intensive workshop courses, D&I educational activities for pre-doctoral (clinical psychology residents) and post-doctoral trainings (T32 fellows), and coordination of Grand Rounds lectures from renowned D&I scientists from across the country. The Faculty position involves a full-time appointment within the Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior's Implementation Science Core. The Faculty member will be actively engaged in providing D&I consultation, serving as a Co-Investigator on D&I grants (and a Co-Mentor for Career Development Awards), and developing and participating in the Core's educational activities, such as seminars and workshops. The Faculty member will also be expected to spend 50% effort on scholarly productivity, including building an independent program of research and pursuing independent grant funding. Teaching The incumbent will be expected to participate as an instructor for the educational activities offered through the Implementation Science Core in the Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior. Research The incumbent will be expected to establish an independent investigative program, preferably focusing on implementation science research or a closely related field. The incumbent will also be expected to pursue independent grant funding from agencies such as NIH, CDC, PCORI, or AHRQ. It is expected that approximately 50% (or other agreed on percentage) of the incumbent's time will be devoted to research, and space will be provided. The incumbent will serve as a liaison between the Implementation Science Core and the various programs of Brown University and its affiliated hospitals. Service Responsibilities The incumbent will be expected to actively participate in all activities of the Implementation Science Core, the Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior, and The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University.

The successful candidate must have extensive experience in implementation science, through specific training, conduct of federally-sponsored research, teaching, and through first- and senior-authored publications focused on implementation science. Minimum requirements include a doctoral degree (e.g. Ph.D., M.D.) and substantial experience and training in dissemination and implementation science. It is preferred that the candidate's training and research experience focus on health services research, clinical psychology, public health, behavioral health science, social work, psychology, or related fields.
