Position Summary:

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Student Assistant for the department of Health Behavior, Society and Policy at the School of Public Health.

The Student Assistant will work under the supervision of the Principal Investigator. The Student Assistant will support research projects addressing prevention of perinatal depression in central New Jersey communities using community-engaged research approaches. Duties will include reviewing the published literature, aiding in qualitative data collection and analysis, assisting with editing and preparation of reports and manuscripts, and administrative research support.

Among the key duties of this position are the following:

• Supports research activities.
• Conducts literature reviews and obtains background knowledge in perinatal depression and other areas relevant to research projects.
• Collects and analyzes data, including transcription.
• Provides administrative research support.
• Assists with the editing and preparation of manuscripts, publications, reports and presentations.
• Prepares materials for submission of grant applications.
• Prepares and maintains all necessary IRB regulatory documents and IRB submissions.
• Prepares and/or compiles data for special reports and analyses, program evaluations, and other related reports.

Minimum Education and Experience:

• Currently a Rutgers' student.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with human subjects' research.
• Experience with qualitative research and NVivo software.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

• Must be able to lift or exert up to 25 pounds.

Salary: $16-$24/hour
