Hiring Department MISSOURI INSTITUTE OF MENTAL HEALTH University of Missouri - St. Louis Lab Manager for Addiction Science The Addiction Science Team at UMSL-Missouri Institute of Mental Health (UMSL-MIMH) conducts grant implementation and evaluation services for several federally- and state-funded research and service grants focused on substance use prevention, treatment, recovery, and harm reduction. Our overarching goals include preventing overdose deaths, promoting the dignity and worth of people who use drugs, and reducing barriers to evidence-based treatment and recovery services. Our team has grown rapidly in the past few years, and we are looking for a self-starting, passionate, experienced, and organized individual to help supervise our team and provide critical insight into the work that we do. The Lab Manager for the Addiction Science team will oversee grant-related operational activities, including personnel management, report generation and review, strategic guidance, financial oversight and planning, as well as assistance with grant application and manuscript writing and preparation. The primary responsibility of this individual will be to ensure the goals and objectives of various projects are accomplished in accordance with established priorities, time limitations, and community collaborators, while capitalizing on the varied skillsets of all team members. This position will also be expected to have existing content knowledge in substance use and addiction, and be able to quickly integrate new knowledge and understanding from the research literature and community partners. Personal Qualities : The ideal candidate would be self-directed, organized, flexible, detail-oriented, and solution-focused. They would also be an effective communicator, possess expert critical thinking skills, and place high value in developing and maintaining authentic relationships within and outside of the Addiction Science team. Reports to : Rachel Winograd, PhD, Associate Research Professor Remote Work/Physical Requirements: Many job duties can and will be done remotely, especially in 2021 as we continue to grapple with COVID-19. For meetings or other activities in community settings, we will adhere to strict social distancing and PPE protocols. As it becomes safe to do so, reporting to work onsite at UMSL-MIMH and at community organizations will be expected. Salary range : $60,000-$70,000 commensurate with experience.
