JOB DESCRIPTION Summary/Objective The Senior Policy Advisor will act as a subject matter expert on health care issues impacting the individual and small group markets. Will apply a nuanced understanding of health insurance and health care policy issues to support AHIP and its member organizations to develop policy positions. Coordinates and oversees activities related to health care regulations and legislation impacting the individual and small group markets. Manages issues as assigned related to the individual and small group health insurance market, health insurance exchanges—including policy and strategy related to the Affordable Care Act risk adjustment and RADV—and other cross-cutting policy issues. Activities include developing and implementing policy and positioning recommendations, legislative and regulatory analysis, and serving as a resource for member health plans. Facilitates AHIP member committees and workgroups as assigned. This role routinely uses standard office equipment including Microsoft Office products and video conference technology (Teams, Zoom, WebEx). Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. Standard days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., however may require long hours and weekend work.
Travel This position is expected to travel less than 10% of the time, including overnight domestic travel.
