This Clinical Assistant will be responsible for: - Assisting clinicians during examinations (i.e. obtaining, measuring and recording routine information such as temperature and blood pressure, and performing other related duties according to specific needs of clinic).
- Collecting, verifying and recording required information according to established procedures and instructions.
- Identifying and reporting unusual findings or changes in patient condition to Registered Nurse.
- Collecting and organizing medical records, information, materials and supplies required for admissions or encounters. Preparing requisitions and other standard forms as requested by clinician or supervisor.
- Verifying, recording and processing patient demographics, insurance/payment and referral information for patient encounters. Collecting all necessary clinical documentation and information.
- Answering, screening and routing telephone calls. Recording and forwarding messages and triaging calls for urgent information or services. Responding to requests for routine information or assistance within scope of knowledge and authority. Initiating call for emergency services as required.
To qualify, you must have: - 1 year Clinical Assistant experience.
- A High School Diploma or equivalent.
- The ability to: exchange information on factual matters, schedule appointments, greet visitors, explain hospital policies and relay messages to appropriate personnel. This type of interaction requires courtesy and tact when dealing with patients, visitors and/or hospital employees.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work on a team.
- The ability to work 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday, with the potential for some Saturday clinic hours in the future.
Please note: During a public health emergency, individuals in this role may be expected to take on additional duties to respond to organizational needs.
