Position Summary:

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a motivated Program Coordinator for the Office for Academic Affairs within the School of Public Health.

Under the direction of the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, the Program Coordinator will be responsible for assisting with the student practice and practicum capstone experiences in the Office of Academic Affairs in the Rutgers School of Public Health (SPH), on both the Piscataway and Newark campuses. This position monitors and coordinates practice and practicum capstone for students in the Master of Public Health (MPH) and Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) degree programs with the Practice Coordinators.

Among the key duties of this position are the following:

• Monitors and coordinates student practice and practicum capstone and other learning experiences for students.
• Coordinates in identifying potential student practice and practicum capstone sites and supervisors suited to the program’s various concentrations by establishing professional relationships with local, state, and national public health agencies and organizations for the placement of practice and practicum capstone students.
• Has knowledge of the student practice and practicum capstone requirements and in the timely completion of all related deliverables, including human subjects research (IRB) applications and requirements.
• Plans and organizes student practice and practicum capstone seminars during the semester as well as Practice Day.
• Identifies opportunities for student engagement beyond coursework to build professional and employment skills.
• Manages online repository for training tools and recorded seminars in the School's Learning Management System.

Minimum Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree in Public Health or a related field.
• Three (3) years of experience in Public Health.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal, administrative and computer skills.
• Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with local, state, national and international public health agencies and organizations.
• Must be a team-player, innovative and a self-starter with motivation to contribute to the overall goals of the school/university.
• Demonstrated ability to work with the highest levels of university administration, as well as other executives in the public health sector.
• Must have an understanding of global travel requirements, immunizations, policies, etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's Degree.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

• Lift or exert force up to 25 pounds.

Special Conditions:

• Must possess a vehicle for travel between campuses or alternative means of transportation.
• This position is non-state funded.
