The NH-ME LEND Program Director has overall administrative responsibility for the success of the federally-funded Maternal and Child Health training grant and all activities associated with it. The NH-ME LEND project is comprised of three partner institutions: the University of New Hampshire Institute on Disability/UCED, Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, and the University of Maine Center for Community Inclusion and Disability Studies (UCEDD). The Program Director will be expected to attend annual LEND and related meetings in Washington DC and work directly with the MCHB project officer. The Program Director must have demonstrated leadership and expertise in working with children with neurodevelopmental disabilities and must be the person having direct, functional responsibility for the program for which federal support is directed. * The Program Director reports to the co-chairs of the NH-ME LEND Executive Committee and to the director of the University of New Hampshire Institute on Disability.

The LEND Program Director should be a health professional with an earned doctorate in one of the fifteen core disciplines (Audiology, Family, Genetics, Health Administration, Medicine/Pediatrics, Nursing, Nutrition, Occupational Therapy, Psychology, Public Health Policy, Social Work, Speech-Language Pathology, Special Education/Education)* and demonstrated skills in planning, coordination, and administration of a major federally-funded project; OR a currently approved LEND Program Director, with a minimum of five (5) years, preferably seven (7) or more years, of experience in programs serving children with developmental disabilities, neurodevelopmental disabilities, and other special health care needs.* |
