Department GLOBAL HEALTH (IN-ENVR-IUINA) Department Information The Richard M. Fairbanks School of Public Health was formally created in 2012 and was named in recognition of a transformative gift by the Richard M. Fairbanks Foundation. With strong connections to the IU School of Medicine and other health science schools on the IUPUI campus, the School of Public Health is poised to be a catalyst to help build a collaborative approach to improved public health in Indiana. The School of Public Health currently serves more than 600 students, employs over 25 full-time staff and is home to over 50 full-time faculty within the departments of Epidemiology, Social and Behavioral Sciences, Health Policy and Management, Environmental Health, and Biostatistics. Job Summary This Administrative Assistant position provides shared administrative support for the Department of Global Health (GH) and the Dean's Office at the IU Richard M. Fairbanks School of Public Health and various faculty within these units. This includes providing support to the administrative leaders and research faculty in the GH department, faculty chairs of various school level committees, and the Associate Deans. The position serves as the primary point of contact for the FSPH suite on the 6th floor of the Health Sciences Building and also serves as the school's receptionist. Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED and one year of related administrative experience. Strong communication skills and extensive desktop computer experience, including a working knowledge of Microsoft tools, Outlook, and internet browsers. Ability to manage highly confidential information and sensitive data. Preferred Qualifications Associate's degree. Knowledge of multiline phone and Indiana University systems, including Kuali Financials, BuyIU, Chrome River, and Canvas. Working Conditions / Demands This position requires the use of desktop computer, copier, fax and standard office tools. Ability to work on a computer for several hours a day. Ability to use a photocopier. Ability to travel to meetings which may include transporting supplies. Work Location The Richard M.
