Samford University’s McWhorter School of Pharmacy invites individuals interested in serving in a Christian university environment to apply for the position of Associate/Full Professor, Pharmacy (tenure-track). This full-time, tenure track position is a 12-month appointment. The individual in this position will contribute to teaching, service, and scholarship supporting the mission and vision of McWhorter School of Pharmacy and the Department of Pharmaceutical Social and Administrative Sciences. Teaching responsibilities include didactic in the required curriculum with opportunities to teach electives. The successful candidate will provide didactic teaching, develop high-impact scholarly works, submit extramural grants to support high-impact scholarship, contribute to committee service, and complete other duties as assigned. This full-time appointment is expected to begin July 2021.

Candidates must possess a Ph.D. degree in medicinal chemistry from an institution accredited by HLC, MSCHE, NECHE, NWCCU, SACSCOC or WSCUC, or a related degree from an accredited U.S. school of pharmacy and have a postdoctoral fellowship or relevant industry experience. Preference given to candidates who have a strong record of research/scholarship and potential for funded research. The successful candidate will have a track record of teaching and research commensurate with appointment to the rank of associate or full professor at Samford University. Academic rank and salary are dependent upon qualifications, previous teaching involvement, and research and scholarship accomplishments. The College of Health Sciences includes four schools: Moffett & Sanders School of Nursing, McWhorter School of Pharmacy, School of Health Professions, and School of Public Health. The college offers multiple degree programs and majors within the health sciences with an interprofessional education focus that reflects today’s team approach to healthcare delivery and professional practice.
