Job Summary Under minimal direction, formulates and defines system scope and objectives. Devises or modifies procedures to solve complex problems considering software application limitations, operating time, and form of desired results. Provides advanced technical knowledge as part of a team to develop and maintain clinical and operational data systems to meet department needs. May be responsible for completion of a phase of a project. May be requested to assist in designing, coding (such as scripting), testing, debugging, and documenting applications. Familiar with relational databases and client-server concepts. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks to support the customers and management. Queries data inconsistencies and revises reports in compliance with standard operating procedures, department guidelines, and regulatory/external agency guidelines. Designs and implements reports as required. Focus is on clinical and operational data.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Demonstrated ability to understand the needs and challenges faced by clinical staff. * Excellent verbal and written communication/presentation skills. * Ability to adapt and analyze changing situations with the willingness to independently learn new system features and technology. * Mentors less-experienced analysts and teams on application systems to help build knowledge, skill and ability * Demonstrated ability to communicate and intervene across the organization with both technical and non-technical customers including vendors to resolve issues.
Education Associates Degree or Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business or Healthcare Related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience: Five or more years experience in Healthcare Information Systems or a related field. Applicable programming or application support experience preferred.
