Job Summary Under minimal supervision, queries data warehouse to provide data for regular and ad-hoc requests. Coordinates and performs statistical analysis. Provides assistance in creating and refining research methodologies. Supports data needs of investigators in the Office of Research, Center for Health Systems Research for the purposes of research, quality improvement, grant and contract deliverables and publication. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Experience writing queries in SQL (Structured Query Language) and using database management systems including Access. Demonstrates skill in performing data collection and management using software packages/languages such as SQL, Microsoft Access and Excel, SAS or other similar programs. Demonstrates skill in performing statistical analyses using software packages such as SAS, SPSS or other similar programs. Demonstrates skill in utilizing principles and practices of effective and persuasive communication to elicit and/or present explanatory or interpretive information. Organization skills necessary for successful completion and documentation of simultaneous projects. Ability to perform work that is detailed and routine with minimal supervision. Independence in problem solving coupled with knowledge of when to ask for assistance. Ability to summarize detailed information in an organized, concise manner. Education Bachelor's Degree (Required) Bachelor's degree in statistics, computer science, or disciplines which include application of statistical analysis and research, required. Experience One year of healthcare data analysis working with databases and the analysis of data to drive improvements in patient outcomes, preferred.
