Job Summary: Under minimal supervision, assists in developing and implementing initial training, future training and care team development programs for Cath Lab/EP. Conducts ongoing education for the team and is responsible for assuring the competency of the professional nurse and unlicensed personnel. Evidence of competency is reviewed and documented at least annually and is based upon the most recent evidence and best practices. Lead the department's evidence-based orientation program. Applies critical thinking, evidence-based practices and competence to collaborate with the health care team to promote excellence in healthcare consumer safety and quality outcomes. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Education: Completion of an accredited nursing education program that satisfies the licensing requirements of the Colorado State Board of Nursing for Registered Nurses. Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) required. Master Degree in Nursing or related field preferred. Experience: 3 years direct patient care nursing experience. Cath Lab/EP experience highly desired. Credentials: Active Registered Nurse (RN) License in the State of Colorado or a participating compact state required. * National board certification is a preference and encouraged for all nurse leaders * Specialty certifications as required or recommended per unit. Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) and ACLS from American Heart Association or Red Cross required.
