| Denver Health is recruiting a Psychology Postdoctoral Fellow to join our team in August 2021! Job Summary The psychology postdoctoral fellow provides therapeutic services as a psychologist candidate for licensure under the supervision of the Chief Psychologist and other delegated licensed behavioral health clinicians. The position will be focused on children and families adversely impacted by opioid and other substance use disorders. The fellowship is affiliated with a four-year HRSA-funded grant project to increase the psychology workforce with skills to help persons from vulnerable and underserved communities, including the urgent public health priority area of addiction. Clinical time will be focused on individual and family therapy with children who have parents with opioid and other addiction disorders. Target population will include preschool children, grade school age children, and teenagers. The treatment setting is primarily in outpatient behavioral health, but may include the pediatric medical emergency service, inpatient child and adolescent psychiatric unit, or the inpatient consult liaison service. Postdoctoral fellow will have an active role in program development and research, clinical and didactic teaching, and clinical supervision (under supervision from licensed psychologist). Postdoctoral fellow participates as a member of the Division of Psychology and Behavioral Health Services.
Responsibilities 1. Provide doctoral level psychotherapeutic and psychoeducational services to children, teenagers, and families. 2. Participate in program development activities to increase engagement and retention in treatment for children and families with substance use disorders. 3. Participate in research initiatives to enhance knowledge of children and families who are impacted by substance use disorders.4. Collaborate with OBHS leadership and substance use disorder teams to improve interdisciplinary patient care services.5. Provide didactic and clinical teaching to psychology interns, practica students, and other trainees as appropriate.6. Complete appropriate documentation of therapeutic activities in a timely manner.7. Participate effectively in supervision with Chief Psychologist and other delegated supervisors. 8. Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities 1. Postdoctoral fellow has strong doctoral level knowledge, skills, and abilities in clinical service with pediatric populations. Proficiency in two or more evidence-based practices with children and families.2. Postdoctoral fellow has critical thinking skills as well as advanced written and oral communication skills. 3. Ability to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality of patients' records. 4. Advanced knowledge and skills in research and/or program evaluation.
Education * Doctorate Degree (Required) 1. Doctoral degree in psychology required.2. Completion of predoctoral internship and graduation from an APA accredited institution with a doctoral degree in psychology. Two years of clinical training and experience with children and adolescents strongly preferred.

Credentials * Psychologist Candidate Permit (Required) 1. Graduation from an APA accredited institution with a PhD, PsyD, or EdD.2. Location Shift Work Type Pay Range Minimum: 38,429.88 Midpoint: 46,995.58 Maximum: 55,561.27 All job applicants for safety-sensitive positions must pass a pre-employment drug test, once a conditional offer of employment has been made.
