Department: MED-Medical Social Sciences Job Summary: Ensures submission and maintenance of accurate, timely, complete and reliable data and reports by implementing data management and quality assurance procedures. Provides feedback to customers and clients regarding systematic data errors or problems. Documents revisions in codebooks and manuals. Program Description: The Evaluation, Data Integration, and Technical Assistance Program (EDIT), housed in the Institute for Sexual and Gender Minority Health and Wellbeing (ISGMH), is directed by Dr. Gregory Phillips II and Dr. Lauren B. Beach (Associate Director), and attempts to foster a learning community to improve the health and wellbeing of sexual and gender minority (SGM) populations in Chicago and beyond. EDIT’s goals are to (1) be a local leader in the evaluation of interventions focused on improving the health and wellbeing of sexual and gender minority individuals; (2) help community agencies build capacity to strategically plan and implement and evaluate innovative and culturally responsive programming that serves sexual and gender minority individuals through the provision of tailored technical assistance; (3) use a wide array of data sources to enhance understanding of health disparities of sexual and gender minority individuals at a local and national level; and (4) share best practices and lessons learned from program evaluation and research studies with policymakers, funders, and service providers to improve community response to serving sexual and gender minority individuals. Project Description: This position will primarily work across two projects: 1) A recently funded research grant to study the impacts of COVID-19 on youth and young adults (YYA) ages 14-24 years, with an emphasis on minoritized YYA (e.g., LGBTQ+ and BIPOC YYA). 2) The Evaluation Center is a series of Chicago Department of Public Health (CDPH) funded projects that provide evaluation and technical assistance services to multiple community agencies also funded by CDPH to plan and implement HIV prevention services. Job Activities: This job involves the support of research and evaluation efforts across both projects, with a particular focus on community relationship building and engagement. Primary activities include: interfacing with partner organizations; assisting with the development and implementation of surveys; tracking evaluation and quality improvement initiatives; participating in periodic calls and meetings with partner organizations; supporting collection of qualitative and quantitative data; assisting with coding and analysis of qualitative and quantitative data; assisting with the preparation of reports and dissemination products; carrying out administrative duties for the projects; and other project-related responsibilities.
