Job Summary Under general supervision, perform preventative maintenance programs and schedules in addition to the emergency repair and maintenance work orders. The ultimate goal of this position is to keep facility and surrounding campus access control systems and locks in operating order. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Basic knowledge of all hand tools, equipment and machinery required to perform the jobs/tasks of a security technician. Knowledge and proper use of personal protective equipment as required, following appropriate safety precautions at all times. Knowledge and proper use of Infection/Dust Control and Intern life Safety Measures (ILSM). Understanding of and maintenance of key inventory and access approval process. Able to evaluate and manage projects related to access control systems and coordinate with IT when applicable. Computers and Technology Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Computer knowledge and skills to be proficient for work order process, spread sheets, word documents, e-mail and internet/product search as well as working with information technology teams and various software to manage video or access control. Basic knowledge of cylinder locks, key-making, door hardware and locking systems. Ability to program and debug access control panels and related readers. Basic experience with software-based key inventory systems. Education and Experience High School or GED certificate required. Five years' experience in one or more of the following preferred: maintenance, security integration, access control, door locking hardware or related software. Three years' experience working in a hospital environment preferred. Experience working with access control software systems and hardware required; including commissioning and de-commissioning identification badges and programming access levels. Experience with other computer systems or project management experience will be considered.
