The University of Michigan's Office of Financial Aid is looking for the ideal candidate to review eligibility for both need-based and merit-based scholarship funding offered through the Office of Financial Aid; to assist in the administration of existing scholarship and financial aid programs; to advise students and others regarding scholarship programs; and to assist in developing new policies and procedures. This position will counsel and process athletic financial aid in accordance with the Department of Education and NCAA guidelines.
Supervision Received: Direct supervision is received from the Assistant Director for Scholarships. - A bachelor’s degree is required. - One year of experience as a financial aid administrator/professional. - Strong oral and written communication skills, and attention to detail. - Experience working with data systems, and working knowledge of Microsoft Excel. - Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to create and maintain relationships with internal/external partners. - Ability to make independent decisions, appropriately utilize professional judgment and to interpret federal/state/institutional regulations/policies/procedures is a must. Familiarity and working knowledge of NCAA regulations regarding financial aid. Please note, there is a need for the selected candidate to secure reliable internet access/wifi due to the current remote work arrangement. This position is traditionally expected to work on-campus, and new hires may be expected to work within the office following public health and University guidelines.
