Location: Illinois: Chicago Job Description: - Assist the Office of the Inspector General with Investigative research of targeted areas of practice and procedures of the Department of Children and Family Services and its contracted agencies. Conduct academic evidence-based research relevant to OIG investigations and error reduction training.
- Assists in the coordination and production of the OIG annual report.
- Maintains technical and administrative support for a research project. 2. Analyzes and maintains data and/or specimens.
- Assist in conducting confidential and sensitive investigations of child deaths/serious injuries and allegations of misconduct or violations of rules, procedures or laws by DCFS employees, foster parents, service providers and contractors.
- Coordinate the retrieval of relevant confidential records through impound and subpoena. Reviews and analyzes records and documentation by Department, private agency and external entities.
- Installs, sets up and performs experiments; interacting with students and other laboratory staff under the direction of the principal investigator.
- Maintains recruiting and scheduling research subjects; assisting with developing or amending study protocols; assisting with developing data collection tools; assisting with building databases; and providing general administrative support. Has general awareness in research techniques or methods, regulatory policies and procedures, and relevant scientific field
- Performs other related work as needed.
Preferred Qualifications Education: â‹Masters in area of social work, public administration, law enforcement, public health, or related area.
Experience: Preferred Competencies Strong written and verbal communication skills, organized and professional. Proficiency with office software, data management, and data analysis tools.
