Job Summary The Director of Hospital and Physician Business Services manages the activities of Receivable Management and Billing for Denver Health facility and professional claims. This position is responsible for overseeing the overall accounts receivable functions of the organization which include, but are not limited to billing, insurance follow-up, denial management, collections, cash posting, customer service, charge entry/corrections, supervision of vendors and legal collections. This position will work with the Associate CFO of Revenue Cycle to meet strategic goals, provide analytical analysis and keep her/him informed of pertinent issues as they arise. Develops and implements accounts receivable strategies for maximizing collections and reducing accounts receivable days as well as improving other metrics in a compliant, cost-effective manner. Analytical, verbal and written communication skills are required to create written guidelines, policies, and procedures to develop metrics based on industry standards and measure improvement against those metrics.
Responsibilities 1. Maximizes collections by implementing revenue cycle strategies and reducing accounts receivable (AR) days as well as improving other metrics in a compliant manner. 2. Develops, defines and tracks key performance indicators for measuring performance including AR days, cash collections, CFB days, denials days and other applicable metrics. 3. Develops, implements and maintains compliance to policies and procedures aimed at ensuring compliance with all applicable rules and regulations.4. Oversees development of robust quality assurance and training programs.5. Oversees management of accounts receivable days to an industry best practice benchmark and keeps up to date on developments in billing regulations and understand how changes apply to Denver Health. 6. Develops strategic plans and programs for hospital and physician business services and ensures that goals and objectives of the unit are properly defined and clearly established. 7. Implements and sustains best practices for all Revenue Cycle activities under area of responsibility. 8. Troubleshoots and resolves complex issues related to receivables management. 9. Collaborates with key leadership across the organization to insure external customer needs are met. 10. Participates in the development of new organization initiatives to insure issues related to accounts receivable management are identified and resolved.11. Participates and contributes in the LEAN and "Getting it Right" initiatives at Denver Health. 12. Participates on RIEs and other LEAN events.13. Other duties as assigned.

Strong background in financial management and knowledgeable of federal/state laws and requirements relating to healthcare financial management. 3. Working knowledge of various billing/collections systems (Epic preferred)2. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite3. Experience
Bachelor's degree and seven years related experience required OR; 2. Associate's degree, HFMA certification, and ten years related experience required OR; 3. High school diploma/GED, HFMA certification, and thirteen years related experience required. Related experience: Successful Revenue Cycle experience 7. Three years managerial experience required.
