Cornell Health is hiring for multiple temporary Staff Registered Nurse positions. Cornell Health Nursing staff perform telephone triage, assess patients' needs for medical intervention, level of care required and prioritize scheduling to assist with day-to-day patient flow. In varying duration and frequency, registered Staff Nurses can expect to: answer patient medical questions (in-person or by phone), independently perform nursing procedures, provide patient teaching as needed, document patient interactions in electronic health record (maintaining confidentiality) collaborate with the health department to manage care students in isolation or quarantine, and use university and community resources for patient care and referrals. Nurses are a liaison to clinicians and other Cornell Health clinical services. They may also assist in the training of new clinical staff. These positions are considered an Essential Employee; those needed on campus to meet the needs of students, research programs, or general operations when the university is in reduced operating status or closed. This position is OSHA category BBP1; TB1; ERG2.
Please note: These positions are temporary jobs, with an anticipated start date in mid-January 2021 and ending at the end of May 2021. Preference is for full-time availability, with the minimum being 20 hours per week. There is no visa sponsorship available for these positions. Success Factors:
