As a leader in health education for more than 60 years, Gwynedd Mercy University is proud to launch an innovative Public Health Program to respond to the growing need for public health experts. GMercyU’s commitment to academic excellence with a strong value of promoting social justice in a diverse world has led to the development of two new degree programs, a Master of Public Health with a concentration in Health Equity and a Bachelor of Science in Public Health with a concentration in Health Education. The goal of the Public Health Program is to prepare practitioners, researchers, and health educators whose impact will benefit communities through collaborative and compassionate care. Our first students will enroll in Fall 2021. GMercyU seeks an individual dedicated to educating public health professionals focused on reducing health disparities. The applicant for Assistant Professor in the Public Health Program will join the faculty in March 2021. This is a tenure-track, faculty position that provides a unique opportunity for an individual to be involved with the development of a new public health program, collaborating with the program director to prepare documentation for accreditation. In addition to teaching and research responsibilities, the faculty member will serve as an academic advisor for undergraduate and graduate students. The position reports to the Director of the Public Health program, located within the School of Arts and Sciences. Salary is commensurate with academic credentials and experience. GMercyU values diversity and seeks a faculty member who is committed to inclusion in education and professional practice.
