Department: Sch Health & Applied Human Sciences - 31530 Brief Summary of Work for this position: The Masters of Healthcare Administration (MHA) program within the College of Health and Human Services at the University of North Carolina Wilmington (UNCW), seeks a nine-month, full time, non-tenure track faculty member at the rank of Instructor of Practice, Assistant Professor of Practice, Associate Professor of Practice, or Professor of Practice. Appointment at the Instructor of Practice, Assistant Professor of Practice, Associate Professor of Practice, or Professor of Practice rank is dependent on qualifications relative to university and college standards. Practice Track faculty are initially appointed on a 5 year contract that is renewable based on performance and are eligible to apply for promotion to higher Practice Track ranks. The MHA program is housed in the School of Health and Applied Human Sciences (SHAHS) within the College of Health and Human Services (CHHS). The MHA curriculum is a 100% online accelerated program (OAP) that prepares graduates for administrative roles in healthcare settings. Successful candidates will be expected to relocate to Southeastern North Carolina or the Wilmington area and maintain a campus presence as part of the SHAHS faculty. The roles and responsibilities of the successful candidate will reflect a strong commitment to professional practice, community, and regional engagement and impact activities, and applied scholarship related to professional practice. All candidates are required to be experienced and highly competent in teaching online courses. Appointment begins in August 2021. Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: Applicants must have the following qualifications: Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills & Experience : Preference will be given to candidates who have the following qualifications: Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit: The Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA) will prepare early- to mid-level careerists by providing transformative learning experiences and foundational knowledge and skills, to serve as effective managers and administrators within a wide range of healthcare organizations throughout Southeastern NC and beyond. The MHA program is a 48 credit-hour graduate degree program consisting of a curriculum aligned with the Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Management Education (CAHME) standards and competencies. The curriculum is offered through UNCW’s Online Accelerated Program (the OAP model). The School of Health and Applied Human Sciences (SHAHS) has five undergraduate degree programs: The SHAHS also has Master of Science degrees in: o(Bachelors / Masters) with Public Health / Gerontology oRecreation Therapy / Gerontology oExercise Science / Gerontology The SHAHS also supports a Masters of Arts in Teaching (MAT) and a Masters of Education concentration in Physical Education and Health through the Watson College of Education.
