Job Summary: Under supervision, supports various research related activities as assigned, working on projects that focus on a variety of topics related to health and healthcare services. This position will primarily support clinical trial activities conducted by the Pulmonary Group. These trials are frequently conducted in the Intensive Care Unit at Denver Health. The ideal candidate is comfortable performing duties as delegated by principal investigators and/or their designees in this fast-paced, critical environment with strong attention to details. Assigned duties may include conducting recruitment, screening and enrollment activities which includes obtaining informed consents, abstracting health information from electronic medical records, entering clinical data into case report forms, collecting or processing samples, supporting the maintenance of regulatory files and other research-related tasks as assigned. Data management duties may include data collection/entry, database management, analysis and reporting, and dissemination of results. Additional duties may include assisting with regulatory submissions and acting as point of contact for study participants. Responsibilities: 1. Supports study-related activities, which may include chart review, recruitment, screening, and enrollment activities including obtaining informed consents, abstracting health information from electronic medical records, entering clinical data into case report forms, collecting or processing samples, making calls, scheduling visits, patient navigation, supporting the maintenance of regulatory files, and other research-related tasks as assigned. 2. Ensures eligibility and subject confidentiality, while treating participants with courtesy, dignity, empathy and respect though all verbal and non-verbal communications. May act as primary point of contact for study participants. 3. Assists with data management activities, which may include collection, entry and verification for accuracy and integrity, database management, analysis and reporting, and disseminating results. 4. Assists with preparation and maintenance of all regulatory documentation. 5. Builds and maintains good relationships with research subjects, teams, collaborators and colleagues. 6. Adheres to all protocol, policy and regulatory requirements required to conduct human subjects research, including training requirements for COMIRB and CITI. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 1. Excellent interpersonal skills to interact with investigators, staff, students and participants. 2. Must be comfortable working with diverse populations. 3. Sound organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. 4. Knowledge of protocol adherence and general research practices. 5. Knowledge of research methods and rules of patient confidentiality. 6. Knowledge of the study to ensure adherence to all aspects of the study protocol. 7. Bilingual skills preferred. Computers and Technology: 1.Microsoft Office Suite Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Experience: One year related experience preferred.
