This Financial Reporting Analyst I will be responsible for: - Preparing a variety of recurring financial transactions, reports, & analyses related to the hospital operating financial statement & balance sheet including intercompany activity, and other sub ledger activity & schedules in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Preparing monthly, quarterly & annual journal entries & account reconciliations for assigned accounts and funds, ensuring all activity is recorded, adjustments are calculated, and corrections are made timely & accurately.
- Preparing detailed analyses of various general ledger accounts & selected cost centers, as assigned. Reviewing account and/or fund activity for accuracy, completeness, and reasonableness. Providing preliminary interpretations and explanations on trends, current & prior year changes & projected impact.
- Preparing various financial & statistical reports for monthly closes, quarterly reviews and year-end audit reporting, including the UFR Guidance. Preparing reports for department managers, grant sponsors, donors and federal agencies responsible for overseeing grants awarded to the hospital.
- Preparing, organizing and maintaining supporting documentation and schedules in various media on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis in preparation for the monthly close, quarterly reviews and year-end audit. ( journal entries, budget performance reports, detail trial balance reports, journal entry logs, account reconciliation reports, expanded labor cost report, etc).
- Communicating responses to questions and concerns raised by department managers. Researching all issues or concerns pertaining to the budget performance report and funds collation report, as well as all supporting reports used by department managers and grant managers to manage revenues & expenses.
- Maintaining collaborative team relationships in order to effectively contribute to the working group's achievement of goals.
To qualify, you must have: - A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a closely related field. 1 yr of related experience preferred.
- Solid technical skills & proficiency with Microsoft Office & Excel.
- Knowledge of basic analytical models, tools & methods.
- A willingness and ability to learn and adopt new systems and technologies supporting Financial Reporting analytics.
- Strong analytical & problem solving skills as well as communication skills.
