About the Opportunity: Global.health is a data science initiative committed to the rapid sharing of trusted and open public health data to advance the response to infection diseases. Together with product and engineering professionals from Google and Google.org, researchers from institutions around the world including the University of Oxford, Boston Children's Hospital, and Northeastern University have built an easy to use, global data repository and visualization platform that enables access to open real-time COVID-19 data. In support of our mission, we are looking for a motivated front-end and data visualization engineer to join us at the Roux Institute in Portland, ME. Global.health's work has been featured in: The New York Times Magazine, Vice News, and The Lancet Infectious Diseases and powered academic publications in: Science, Nature Medicine, and ELife. Responsibilities: The Senior Front-end and Data Visualization Engineer will be working with Professor Sam Scarpino, a member of, Northeastern's Network Science Institute, to help deliver detailed and accurate real-time infectious disease data and visualizations to researchers, public health officials, and citizens.
