Under the general supervision of the Interim Director of Student Affairs, the Assistant Director of Graduate Affairs for the Program in Public Health is responsible for establishing strategic goals that supports the growth of the program's graduate division and further drives the mission of Public Health. The Assistant Director is expected to partner closely with program leaders, acting as a thought partner with regards to graduate affairs. This role is a working leader within the program, expected to also provide academic advising and programmatic activities focused on student wellness and student success for MS and PhD students. Additionally, the position is responsible for leading other graduate advisors, providing guidance and proposing solutions to complex student issues. Compensation Range: $4,641.67 - $7,083.33 Department Website: https://publichealth.uci.edu/ph/_home Required: 7-10 years of relevant experience, including extensive experience working with graduate programs. Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training. Advanced knowledge of advising and counseling techniques. Knowledge of multiple majors, colleges, and schools. Thorough knowledge of college / school policies, procedures, and requirements. Thorough knowledge of department / college / school precedents and application of policy. Skills in judgment and decision-making, problem solving, project management. Ability to multi-task. Abilities in problem identification, reasoning, and ability to develop original ideas to solve problems. Multicultural competencies; ability to work with diverse populations. Skills in monitoring / assessing people, processes or services, to make improvements. Advanced verbal and written communication skills. Ability to identify unique challenges facing graduate students. Preferred: Experience managing and leading others. Final candidate subject to background check.
