Job Summary Under minimal supervision, collaborates with and institutes process improvements as indicated for patient safety. Collects and analyzes data and prepares reports for various patient safety, quality and regulatory initiatives. Assists with audits, reviewing clinical guidelines, policies and procedures, and supports other quality initiatives in collaboration with other members of the Patient Safety and Quality team and with other departments as necessary. Responsible for providing guidance to team members
Responsibilities
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Education: Completion of a nursing education program that satisfies the licensing requirements of the Colorado State Board of Nursing for Registered Nurses. Registered Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN). Experience: Three to five years of professional nursing experience and prefer one or more years of experience in healthcare quality with a good working knowledge of Performance Improvement methodology. Ability to apply nursing principles, practices and techniques and review of quality of care concerns. Some experience in performing medical record review. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office and Internet. Knowledge of The Joint Commission and CMS Conditions of Participation standards preferred. Skills to include collecting and compiling data for QI studies such as medical records, decision making skills regarding appropriateness of care review, ability to write clearly and concisely for various audiences. Ability to be flexible and handle multiple tasks, simultaneously. Ability to communicate in a professional and positive manner and to work independently and consistently meet schedules and deadlines. Demonstrates constructive, accurate and effective communication skills and promotes effective communication between team members. ~Current unrestricted Colorado RN License All Certifications and Licenses required for this job must be kept current as a condition of continued employment.
