Job Summary:
Performs brief therapy, care plan development, case management, and referral coordination for alcohol and drug abuse clients receiving treatment at Denver Health. Provides addiction education to assist patients, as well as staff health educators gain a better understanding of the addictive disease process and resources available. May act as clinical lead for CAC-I, II and III clinicians.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge of safety and infection control requirements. Knowledge of State and Federal and Agency mandated documentation. Knowledge of human behavior and performance. Skill in logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems. Ability to provide personal assistance and emotional support to patients. Ability to keep organized and detailed patient records while maintaining patient confidentiality.
Education:
Graduation from high school or a GED certificate required. BA / BS preferred.
Experience:
Typically, Two years of paid or volunteer casework and counseling experience in mental health, vocational rehabilitation or social services, including counseling work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Credentials:
CAC III certificate issued by Colorado Department of Regulatory Agency.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or The Red Cross.
