Investigators in the Division of Cancer Genetics and Prevention at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute seek a full-time Clinical Research Coordinator to assist in clinical and non-clinical research related to cancer prevention, genetic testing, early identification of individuals at high risk of cancer, and biorepository collections. The Clinical Research Coordinator will support several research studies under the supervision of the Principal Investigator and Research Manager(s). Comprehensive training will be provided before performing any research-related activities, with additional training provided and available as needed. This is an exciting and challenging opportunity for an individual motivated to work in an innovative academic center on cutting-edge genetics research and is interested in working directly with patients, providers, and researchers. - Respect for patient privacy and confidentiality through adherence to HIPAA and institutional requirements
- Assist in the overall conduct and coordination of clinical and non-clinical research studies from study start-up through study closure in collaboration with internal research staff and external study teams and sponsors
- Responsible for participant recruitment, data collection and management, safety reporting, and maintenance of study files in compliance with study requirements, DF/HCC policy and regulations
- Collaborate effectively with internal and external study team members and Sponsors
- Ensure study-related samples are collected, prepared, and shipped in accordance with all applicable regulations, policies, and protocol requirements
- Provide support during audits, inspections, and study monitoring visits under the direction and guidance of the Principal Investigator and Research Manager(s)
- Infrequent travel to local Dana-Farber affiliates for study activities via shuttle network
- Bachelor’s degree required, with a focus in public health, social science, or natural science preferred
- 0-1 years of related experience preferred
- Prior experience with research or patient interaction in a healthcare setting preferred
- Able to work both independently and under supervision as part of a highly collaborative team both remotely and on-site as needed
- Comfortable with patient and clinical staff interaction and handling research specimens (e.g. saliva, blood, tissue)
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and relate effectively with diverse groups of patients, medical personnel, and research staff via in phone, e-mail, and in-person contact
- Detail oriented with strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, and time management skills
- Dependable, motivated, and willing to learn new processes, procedures, and systems as needed
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office products
- Ability to approach projects in a responsible, thoughtful, and thorough manner
