Classification Title: Assistant Professor College/Division: Arnold School of Public Health Department: ASPH Exercise Science Advertised Salary Range: Commensurate with experience Advertised Job Summary: The Department of Exercise Science at the University of South Carolina (UofSC) Arnold School of Public Health (ASPH; www.sph.sc.edu) invites applications for tenure-track positions at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin August 2021. Highly qualified applicants may be considered for Associate Professor. The successful candidate will have, or be able to develop, a collaborative multi-disciplinary research program with a focus on applied physiology, exercise, and health. Research programs of particular interest include, but are not limited to, those with an emphasis on nutrition, brain health, and/or performance in order to complement or enhance research within the department and across the ASPH. Advertised Minimum Qualifications : The successful candidates will have an earned doctoral degree in exercise science, kinesiology, nutrition, neuroscience, or related fields, at least 1 year of postdoctoral fellowship experience by the start date of employment, and demonstrated potential for securing competitive funding to support a research program and for serving as an effective instructor and mentor. Applicants wishing to be considered for the rank of Associate Professor must have a strong record of scholarship and funded research, with at least 5 years of experience as an effective instructor, student mentor, and researcher by the beginning date of employment.
