Demonstrated working knowledge of medication administration procedures CPR, AED and first aid certification from the American Red Cross or other accredited institution. Demonstrated working knowledge of environmental health and safety standard/regulations in an educational setting to deliver health programs according to national, state, and school-specific operations. Demonstrated working knowledge of modern medical terminology, equipment, techniques, and procedures. Working knowledge of accepted methods and principles of personal hygiene Analytical skills to analyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action during routine and emergency situations Knowledge of Public Health agencies and local health care resources to gather information and provide health information to parents and school community. Ability to develop and evaluate procedures to assure accurate inventory control and create and maintain inventory of office/medical materials and equipment for the Health Office and classroom emergency supplies kits. Demonstrated interpersonal communication skills to work and speak to students of various social, cultural, economic, and educational backgrounds and establish good working relationships with faculty, staff, parents, and children. Ability to maintain confidentiality of health records and other students' information. Ability to read, interpret, apply and explain rules, regulations, policies and procedures. Demonstrated writing skills to produce concise, grammatically correct correspondence and or reports for the School and State. Listening skills to facilitate communication between teachers, parents, and students to exchange information accurately in person and on the telephone Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite systems. Ability to work independently and follow through with minimum directions and prioritize numerous job responsibilities when there are frequent interruptions, changes in workload and assignments. Ability to bend at the waist, kneeling or crouching to assist students. Demonstrated ability to lift, carrying, pushing wheelchairs, and walking around on campus with various levels of terrain and in the office. Education and experience equivalent to two years college-level course work in nursing, health education or related field and two years' experience in a health office or related job.
