The Tufts University School of Medicine's Department of Public Health and Community Medicine invites applications for a full-time, 12-month, non-tenured faculty appointment at a level commensurate with experience and qualifications for the developing accelerated Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) Program in Phoenix, AZ to serve as the Director of Curriculum (DoC) for the DPT Program. This two-year DPT program is a blend of online and on-campus activities, which allows the faculty member to live remotely to the Tufts School of Medicine Phoenix expansion campus. However, DPT faculty members must be able to travel and stay in Phoenix, AZ, for designated periods each semester. The successful candidate is expected to enhance current teaching and mentoring activities within the DPT program, as well as develop a scholarly agenda and participate in community and professional service appropriate for a university faculty member. The Tufts University School of Medicine is located on the Health Sciences Campus in the heart of downtown Boston. Also located on the campus are the School of Dental Medicine, the Gerald J. and Dorothy R. Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy, the Sackler School of Graduate Biomedical Sciences, and the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) Jean Mayer Human Nutrition Research Center (HNRCA) on Aging. The Department of Public Health and Community Medicine houses the Public Health Programs that confer the Master of Public Health (MPH), the Doctorate in Public Health (DrPH), Master of Medical Science (Physician Assistant), and the Master of Science in Health Informatics and Analytics. All faculty in the Department are non-tenured track and seek to create an educational and workplace environment that fosters active learning, discussion, and debate, critical thinking, inclusion and the capacity to work in a multidisciplinary practice environment.

The DoC is responsible for developing, monitoring, and refining the didactic, hybrid component of the curriculum, assessing outcomes, and coordinating with the clinical education component of the curriculum for Tufts DPT Phoenix Campus. Successful candidates should possess excellent communication skills and strong computer skills to meet the needs of our online didactic instructional format. We desire a team-oriented colleague who is willing and able to collaborate and share instructional methods and student-learning activities. We also are eager to identify candidates who show a genuine appreciation of evidence-based teaching, integration of technology within the classroom and building a student-centered community within the online classroom. The ideal candidate will have an academic doctorate and previous experience with curriculum development, program assessment, and accreditation reporting. Candidates with a DPT and American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS) certification or certification credentials appropriate for their teaching responsibilities will also be considered.
