Position Number: D97487 Description: The department of Women, Gender, & Sexuality Studies invites applicants for a 1.0 tenure-track position beginning 9/16/2021. Area of specialization for this position is Black, Chicanx/Latinx, or Indigenous queer of color theory with a strong background in women of color feminist theory. Possible secondary areas of specialization within this focus include carceral studies, public health, arts & activism. Successful candidates should hold a PhD (or equivalent terminal degree) at the time of appointment, have an active research agenda, and employ and provide evidence of feminist, decolonizing pedagogical approaches in their teaching. The teaching load is six courses over three quarters, including an upper division majors course in Queer of Color Theorizing and Perspectives, introductory and elective courses in our two undergraduate majors (Sexuality, Gender and Queer Studies; and Women's Studies) as well as graduate courses in the GRN (Gender, Race and Nations) certificate program. This position in the department of Women, Gender, & Sexuality Studies (funded through University Studies UNST) is for a 1.0 FTE tenure-track position with WGSS as the tenuring home. After the first two years of the position, teaching duties in PSU's University Studies general education program may be required as part of the regular teaching load. Other duties include research, teaching, and development of curricula in the area of specialization, plus institutional and professional service. Minimum Qualifications: Successful candidates should hold a PhD (or equivalent terminal degree) at the time of appointment, have an active research agenda, and employ and provide evidence of feminist, decolonizing pedagogical approaches in their teaching. Preferred Qualifications: Previous university teaching (including online) experience and ability to teach in an interdisciplinary environment are required.
