The new Brotman Baty Institute for Precision Medicine (BBI) operates at the intersection of cutting edge technology development and medicine. The BBI acts as a bridge between the University of Washington, the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center and Seattle Children’s Hospital, among other partners. The BBI contributes to research in medical genetics, cancer biology, infectious disease and technology development, and supports other institutions and studies with diverse aims. Research Study Optimization (50%) The optimization pillar revolves around tackling hard-to-solve operations and/or customer experience problems such as optimizing laboratory throughput and/or analyzing and eliminating key participant friction points. Often, this will begin with the difficult up-front work of clearly defining the problem to the satisfaction of all stakeholders such that it can be strategically broken down into achievable sub-goals. After this step, an action plan will be developed that clearly defines milestones and finally, the project will be executed by the Research Coordinator, including general project management and obtaining buy-in from various stakeholders. Within the two pillars, specific tasks include: REQUIREMENTS ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except where there are legal requirements such as license/certification/registration. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS Working Environmental Conditions May include office or remote work, local travel to partner organizations, as well as visits to clinical and research study sites and sample collection areas testing for the virus that causes COVID-19 and other respiratory pathogens, and other future research or clinical study sites.
