The Research Assistant in this position will interact with a variety of investigators from the Heart Center (Cardiology, Cardiac Surgery and Cardiovascular Nursing), and the Cardiovascular & Critical Care Cluster of Clinical Research Excellence, including those in the Heart Center, Critical Care, Nutrition and Pain Management. Tasks will be a mixture of short- and longer-term activities that may involve but are not limited to regulatory submissions, data abstraction from the medical record, data and specimen coordination, study preparation, and patient screening and patient contacts both in person and by phone. The successful candidate will be adaptable, skilled with multi-tasking, have strong written and oral communication skills and excellent attention to detail.

This Clinical Research Assistant I will be responsible for:

• Under general supervision, coordinating activities of daily operations of clinical research studies.
• Screening, consenting, recruitment of study participants (e.g. telephone interviews, in-person/remote informational visits), and selection of patients for studies.
• Screening, consenting, recruitment, and selection of patients for studies.
• Operating procedures; performing data entry and quality control tasks.
• Performing other administrative tasks (such as scheduling study visits, completing case report forms, labeling and filing study documents, and maintaining study inventory).
• Preparing IRB and/or CCI documentation and submissions in conjunction with the Principal Investigator and/or other members of the research team. Conducting data collection activities and prepares analytical reports regarding results of studies.
• Assisting in writing articles and summary papers for various publications.

Requirements :

• A minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required. Experience in research or in the medical field is preferred, but not required. This is a two-year position.
