Position Number: 00121, 00122 School/College: School of Public Health Job Description: The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), Department of Epidemiology in the School of Public Health is inviting applications from outstanding candidates for two full-time tenure-track faculty positions at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor (12-month appointments with rank and tenure status commensurate with qualifications). We are seeking applicants who have or can develop research programs in the substantive areas of infectious diseases (particularly HIV/AIDS), cancer, social determinants of health or climate change and population health. Applicants with an interest in global health are also welcome. Applicants with research programs that will enhance and build on the departmental strengths in cardiovascular diseases, genomics, and health disparities will also be considered. Preferred Qualifications: Preferred qualifications include a record of peer-reviewed publications, experience in teaching graduate or undergraduate level epidemiology courses and demonstrated ability to work effectively in an interdisciplinary, collaborative academic setting. For the rank of Associate Professor or Professor, applicants should have evidence of securing extramural funding to support an independent research program.
